Lewis Blake, Ka Toru, Acrylic on canvas 2013
Lewis Blake, 2013, Oh, bring back the egg unbroken
Acrylic on canvas 13x30cm
Painting of an egg of a Sooty Tern, part of my ongoing series of work looking at religion, theatricality, cults and the disconcerting feeling which can be created by things we don’t understand. This particular painting drew inspiration from the Bird-man cult of the Rapa Nui.
Been drawing Moai heads all day, it’s so fun I don’t want to go home
Sneak peek of the work I’ll be showing this weekend at The Crypt gallery, St Pancras Church.
Completely forgot about this cover.
Uncle Brian (study with bacon and cigarette) Acrylic on Canvas, 40x50cm Lewis J Blake
Detail from the Phonecalls by Duration series, a snapshot of who I spoke to over a period of a month through portraits drawn of each caller for the duration of their call.
